Opening Opportunities Scholarship:

Application and Guidelines

At Colorado Learning Connections, we recognize the importance of individualized learning in helping each student reach their full academic potential. The Opening Opportunities Scholarship is designed to break down the barriers in accessing this service.

CLC is dedicated to making educational services accessible to as many students as possible. OOS scholarships help reduce the cost of services for students in grades K-12, using a sliding scale based on both academic and financial need.

  • Application Process

      1. Scholarships are limited and depend on the amount of funding available, so receiving one is not guaranteed.
      2. Scholarship applications must be submitted prior to the scheduled appointment to be considered for funding. Scholarships are not provided retroactively
      3. A completed scholarship application is required in order to receive funding.
  • Award Process

      1. Scholarship applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and decisions are typically provided within three weeks of submission.
      2. Awards are determined using a sliding scale, meaning you may qualify for a discount ranging from 0% to 100% of the cost, depending on your academic and financial need.
      3. Students seeking scholarships for college consulting services can receive scholarships no sooner than the spring semester of their 11th grade year.
      4. Scholarships are not restricted to any certain program. Scholarships can be applied to one-to-one tutoring, ACT/SAT prep, after school or summer programming.
  • Scholarship Recipient Expectations

    1. Scholarship recipients must abide by CLC’s regular guidelines, including attendance and participation policies.
    2. Recipients are expected to maintain open communication with CLC staff regarding scheduling, challenges, or any changes in their ability to participate in sessions or events.
      1. CLC requires 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Recipients are subject to the “no-show” policy (a “no-show” is a missed session with no prior notice to CLC or the assigned tutor):

Recipients are subject to the “no-show” policy:

  • The first missed session will result in a warning.
  • The second missed session will prompt direct contact from CLC.
  • A third missed session will jeopardize your scholarship.
  • This policy excludes emergencies or illnesses.
  1. Recipients are expected to actively engage in their sessions and demonstrate commitment to their educational goals.
  2. Scholarship students or their families may be asked to complete surveys, provide feedback, or share testimonials with CLC. This information will only be shared with funding sources to help secure support for the scholarship program. It will not be used for any other purposes.. Only non-identifying information, such as testimonials, ages, and grades, will be collected and shared, unless you explicitly give permission for identifying information to be used.
  3. Recipients are required to attend at least one CLC event per semester, such as a workshop, community dinner, concert in the park, etc.
  4. Attendance at Special Events: Recipients may be required to attend additional CLC-hosted events, such as fundraisers or recognition ceremonies, to represent the program and its impact.
  5. Adherence to Program Guidelines: Recipients must comply with all program rules and guidelines, including deadlines for rescheduling or submitting required forms.
  • Organization Responsibilities

    1. Scholarship Application Processing: CLC will review scholarship applications on a rolling basis and provide a decision within three weeks of submission. Awards will be determined by a committee using a sliding scale based on academic and financial need.
    2. Billing and Scholarship Application: Services provided to scholarship students will be invoiced monthly for hours received in the prior month. Scholarships will automatically be applied to the invoice, which will be emailed to the student’s designated email address.
      1. Scholarships are provided for future sessions, and at no point will students be required to pay out-of-pocket or request refunds for covered services.
