High Impact Literacy Tutoring

Our High Impact Literacy Tutoring services are dedicated to enhancing literacy development through a strengths-based, research-backed approach rooted in the Science of Reading. We offer 1:1 individualized instruction tailored to each student’s unique needs, using a multisensory approach to ensure engaging and effective learning.

Comprehensive diagnostic assessments allow us to identify strengths and areas for growth. We emphasize regular progress monitoring through a CDE READ Act approved vendor, ensuring that we track each student’s development and adjust our methods to support continuous improvement. We scaffold literacy skills across all pillars of reading development, including Heggerty-informed phonemic awareness instruction and explicit and structured phonics instruction through Orton-Gillingham pedagogy.

Our tutors specialize in supporting learners with dyslexia and multilingual learners through a structured literacy approach that is systematic and cumulative. Each learner’s unique tutoring plan may include explicit instruction in phonology, sound-symbol association, syllabication, morphology, syntax, vocabulary, and more. Fluency and confidence is built through the use of high-interest decodable readers that align phonics concepts with authentic text at an age-appropriate level.

Our approach is designed not only to address immediate reading challenges but also to bridge gaps in knowledge, thereby enhancing students’ confidence and their ability to access grade-level content effectively. For students in grades 3 and higher, our Reading Recovery approach offers targeted intervention to help students catch up and build confidence in their reading abilities.
